The autumn scenery is gorgeous, and branches are heavy with fruits. On September 13th, the School of Materials and Chemistry welcomed new postgraduate students of the 2025 cohort from all over the country. The campus was filled with a warm and lively atmosphere for welcoming new students—welcome banners, guiding signs, and warm smiles all converged into the most touching scene of this autumn. To ensure the orientation work was carried out efficiently and in an orderly manner, the school made careful arrangements in advance and organized a volunteer team composed of senior student leaders. Early in the morning, the volunteers took their respective positions and devoted themselves to the work with high spirits. They shuttled between registration points and guidance desks, patiently helping new students go through registration procedures, answering their questions, and carrying luggage. With sincere smiles and meticulous services, they eliminated the sense of strangeness of the new students who had just arrived and conveyed the first warmth of the school’s big family. Prior to this, the school had also conducted special orientation training for the volunteers to ensure service quality and work efficiency. At the registration site, the school carefully prepared a "new student gift package" that was both meaningful and practical for each new student. The gift package not only incorporated the unique cultural elements of the school, but also embodied the school’s good wishes and earnest expectations for the new students. It was hoped that this "welcome gift" would help them adapt to the new environment and integrate into the new life more quickly.

Cao Ying, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Dong Xiaoliang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Li Wei, Vice Dean of the School, went to the orientation site to inspect and guide various work, cordially greeted the volunteers who were busy on the front line, and expressed full recognition and gratitude for their hard work. The school leaders had a cordial exchange with the new students who came to register and their accompanying parents. "Where are you from?" "Do you have any difficulties in study or life?"... Each caring greeting narrowed the distance between the school and the new students’ families. The leaders encouraged the new students to cherish their time, concentrate on their studies, and grow rapidly. They also assured the parents that the school would do its utmost to provide support for the students’ growth and development.

This orientation work fully demonstrated the school’s strong organizational cohesion and humanistic care. The arrival of the 2025 postgraduate cohort has injected new vitality into the school. It is reported that the school will successively carry out a series of activities such as the opening ceremony, entrance education, and supervisor-student meeting to help the new students smoothly start a new chapter of their wonderful postgraduate life. So far, the orientation work for the 2025 postgraduate cohort of our school has been successfully concluded. A new journey has begun. We wish all new students could nurture their dreams on this academic fertile ground, ride the wind and waves, and write their own brilliant stories in the days ahead!
