To celebrate the 41st Teachers' Day, accelerate the growth of new teachers, and enhance the overall strength of the school, the School of Materials and Chemistry grandly held a series of celebration activities for the 41st Teachers' Day in the First Conference Room of the Graphic Information Center on the afternoon of September 8, 2025. All teachers of the school participated in the activities. First of all, the Teachers' Day celebration conference kicked off in a solemn and warm atmosphere, co-hosted by Li Xiang, Chairman of the School Trade Union, and Qiu Biwei, President of the Young Teachers Federation.

At the conference, Zhao Ning, Member of the University Party Committee and Secretary of the Disciplinary Inspection Commission, extended sincere holiday greetings to all teachers, provided an in-depth interpretation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's instructions to educators, and encouraged teachers to "be teachers with profound knowledge and models with noble ethics". He urged them to contribute to talent cultivation and scientific research innovation with the ambition and determination to "devote themselves to the teaching cause and strive for the prosperity of the motherland". In line with the school's fine tradition of "mentorship and inheritance" (passing on experience from seniors to juniors), the conference held an appointment ceremony for career mentors and youth teacher navigation mentors. Retired senior teachers of the school, including Professor Yang Junhe, Professor Wang Shulin, Professor Lei Junxiang, and Professor Wang Xia, were appointed as career mentors for teachers and students of the school. They will leverage their rich teaching experience and life insights to provide guidance and direction for the development of young teachers and students. Seven teachers, including Li Shengjuan and Li Xiang, were appointed as youth teacher navigation mentors. They will pair up with newly recruited teachers of the year, such as Zhang Wei and Wu Gang, to provide one-on-one guidance to young teachers in teaching, scientific research, and education work. This initiative aims to pass on experience, support growth, and achieve mutual promotion between senior and young teachers – "seniors guiding juniors and juniors inspiring seniors" – so that all teachers can work together to make new achievements. Zhao Ning presented appointment letters to the mentors. Professor Yang Junhe, former dean of the school and a retired senior leader, delivered a heartfelt message and shared his decades of experience in education. Dr. Duan Linlin, on behalf of the newly recruited teachers, expressed her original aspiration and determination to contribute to the cause of higher education. Finally, led by Dong Xiaoliang, Member of the School Party Committee, the newly recruited teachers jointly read out the *Ten Guidelines for Professional Conduct of College Teachers in the New Era*, bringing the Teachers' Day conference to a successful conclusion.

Subsequently, the school held a teachers' symposium, where many teachers shared their experiences in teaching, competitions, and education, and conducted in-depth discussions. The symposium was hosted by Li Shengjuan, Vice Dean of the School. First, Cao Ying, Secretary of the School Party Committee, on behalf of the school, extended sincere greetings to the teachers who have worked hard, expressed heartfelt thanks for their efforts in the school's development and talent cultivation, and encouraged them to continue adhering to the original aspiration of education and contribute to the school's development. Teacher Xiong Fei, winner of the second prize in the Shanghai Curriculum Ideological and Political Education Competition, introduced his experience in participating in the competition and shared insights into the construction of curriculum ideological and political education. Teacher Xiao Shuning, two-time first prize winner of the University Young Teachers' Teaching Competition, exchanged his experience in the competition and shared his reflections on curriculum construction and teaching work. Teacher Wang Zhuo, recipient of the "Excellent Head Teacher" honor of the university and head teacher of the graduating class, shared his experience in education and introduced how to effectively carry out academic guidance, ideological guidance, and employment guidance. At the symposium, the newly recruited teachers of the year made self-introductions one by one. The new teachers and other teachers jointly discussed teaching methods, time management, and education approaches. Members of the school leadership team also participated in the discussions, which were conducted in-depth around specific issues, creating alively on-site atmosphere.

The school also organized a discipline construction symposium, hosted by Li Xiang, Chairman of the School Trade Union. Members of the school leadership team, retired teachers, and discipline backbones gathered together. Professors Yang Junhe, Wang Shulin, Lei Junxiang, and Wang Xia put forward valuable suggestions on key issues such as the school's future development and the application for doctoral programs. In-depth discussions were held on discipline construction and the school's development to jointly map out the blueprint for the school's future.

This series of activities inherited the school's fine tradition of "caring for teachers' development and supporting teachers' growth" and built an important platform for teachers to exchange experiences, learn from each other, and build consensus. All teachers of the school will earnestly implement the Party's educational policy, carry forward the spirit of educators, devote themselves to the teaching cause, and make selfless contributions to the comprehensive reform of the university's education, the construction of "Double First-Class" (world-class universities and first-class disciplines), and the high-quality development of the school.
