On June 28, 2025, the School of Materials and Chemistry of Shanghai University of Science and Technology successfully held the 2025 National Excellent Undergraduate Summer Camp. The summer camp attracted 100 campers from Shanghai University of Science and Technology, Nanchang Hangkong University, Jiangsu Normal University, Yunnan Normal University, Chengdu University of Technology and other universities to participate in the summer camp activities both online and offline.
Vice Dean Li Wei served as the host of the opening ceremony. With a warm opening, he expressed the most sincere welcome to the excellent students from all over the country on behalf of the school. Subsequently, Secretary Cao Ying delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the school. In her speech full of eager expectations and beautiful visions, she officially announced the opening of the 2025 National Excellent Undergraduate Summer Camp of the School of Materials and Chemistry of Shanghai University of Science and Technology.
Immediately afterwards, Vice Dean Li Wei introduced the basic situation of the School of Materials and Chemistry of Shanghai University of Science and Technology to the campers in detail. From the development history of the school to the professional settings, from the characteristic advantages of the discipline points to the strong teaching staff, and then to the advanced laboratory platform, he outlined an academic blueprint full of opportunities and challenges for the campers, enabling everyone to have a more comprehensive and in - depth understanding of the school.
After that, the representative teachers of each department of the school combined with their own research fields and shared the cutting - edge research directions and rich scientific research achievements of their respective research groups. These achievements are like bright stars, showing the strong strength and rich fruits of the School of Materials and Chemistry on the road of scientific research and innovation, and making the campers deeply feel the charm and infinite possibilities of academia. In the afternoon, Deputy Secretary Dong Xiaoliang of the school interpreted the school - level and school - specific scholarship and grant policies for the campers in detail, allowing everyone to have a clearer plan for their future study and life. At the same time, he also introduced the colorful student activities, demonstrating the positive and vibrant campus culture of the School of Materials and Chemistry. Subsequently, the excellent graduate student representatives, Heng Mingyu from the class of 2023 and Hu Qing from the class of 2024, shared their study and life experiences in the School of Materials and Chemistry. Guided by their own experiences, they told stories of exploration and harvest on the scientific research road, as well as perseverance and growth in the face of difficulties. These real and touching stories made the campers full of expectations and longings for their future graduate student life. In the selection session of excellent campers, the atmosphere at the scene was tense and warm. The campers fully demonstrated their professional qualities, scientific research abilities and innovative spirits through personal profile displays. The professional teachers of the school had "face - to - face" exchanges with the campers and conducted detailed evaluations of the campers' performances. After a fierce competition, 39 excellent campers were finally selected. Vice Dean Li Shengjuan read out the list of excellent campers and spoke highly of their excellent performances. Liu Xingyu from Northwest Normal University and Guo Xinyan from Jiangsu Normal University spoke as representatives of excellent campers. They shared the valuable gains of this summer camp and expressed their beautiful expectations for their future academic careers. After the selection of excellent campers, Secretary Cao Ying announced the successful conclusion of this summer camp. She first warmly congratulated the winning campers and sincerely thanked the organizing committee members for their hard work. Secretary Cao sent a message to all the campers, asking them to remember the teachings of General Secretary Xi Jinping, devote themselves to professional learning and scientific and technological innovation with a sense of urgency that brooks no delay, have the courage to assume the mission entrusted by the times, and dare to make achievements in the academic field.
