To deepen the treatment of both symptoms and root causes, promote reform and governance through case studies, and advance full and rigorous Party self-governance, the School of Materials and Chemistry at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) recently conducted an intensive education and warning campaign focused on thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Central Committee's Eight-Point Decision on Improving Work Conduct and Maintaining Close Ties with the Masses. School leadership, core group members, and representatives of Party members among faculty and students actively participated. Through on-site teaching at an education base, combined with theoretical guidance, case analysis, and exchange discussions, the activity comprehensively reinforced the disciplinary defenses of Party members and solidified the ideological foundation for improving work conduct.

Red Bases Forge Original Aspirations, Faith Lays the Foundation for Loyalty

During the on-site teaching segment, participants first visited the site of the Fourth National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Party members deeply revisited the significant historical importance of the Fourth CPC National Congress in the Party's organizational development. Subsequently, arriving at the National Anthem Museum, all members underwent a profound baptism in patriotism while retracing the birth of "March of the Volunteers." Through the solemn reaffirmation of their Party membership oath, everyone gained a more thorough understanding of the inherent sense of discipline and mission responsibility within the revolutionary legacy. These two on-site teaching sessions enabled all participants to continuously strengthen their Party spirit cultivation while tracing the footsteps of revolution, using profound education in revolutionary traditions to solidify the foundation of their faith.

"Walking Classroom" Tempers Aspirations, Tracing Red Paths to Draw Strength

Using revolutionary landmarks such as the site of the Fourth CPC National Congress and the National Anthem Museum as vivid teaching materials, the school organized Party members, faculty, and students to participate in a "walking Party lecture." Employing a trinity learning model of "on-site teaching + theoretical study + case analysis," the activity aimed to comprehensively reinforce the disciplinary defenses of Party members and solidify the ideological foundation for improving work conduct. Along the journey, Party members and students perceived "the taste of truth" amidst revolutionary sites and listened to "the voice of faith" within red exhibition halls, integrating the Party's glorious history and the Great Founding Spirit into every step taken and every exchange made. Centering on the theme of "Inheriting the Red Gene, Fulfilling Original Aspirations and Mission," and aligning with the goal of "Promoting High-Quality Development of the School through High-Quality Party Building," Party members and students collided ideas while walking and tempered their Party spirit through practice. This further solidified their faith foundation, replenished their spiritual nourishment, and steadied the helm of their ideology. The learning outcomes were transformed into a powerful driving force for overcoming difficulties and pursuing career development, gathering surging momentum for forging ahead on the new journey of the new era.

Improving Discipline through Case - based Rectification ,  Gathering Consensus through Multi - dimensional Discussions

In the centralized discussion session, members of the theoretical central group and Party member representatives focused on analyzing typical cases that violated the central Party leadership's eight point decision on improving Party and government conduct and its detailed rules. They used these cases as mirrors and references to clarify discipline, sounding the alarm for observing Party discipline. At the study meeting, Party members studied the eighth and ninth special topics of Excerpts from Xi Jinping's Speeches on Strengthening the Party's Style of Work by "reading the original text". Li Wei, the vice dean, carried out a special topic guidance based on the actual work of the college. He emphasized that the results of theoretical study should be effectively transformed into practical actions to correct the "Four Forms of Decadence", and actively build a long term mechanism for style construction. In the exchange and discussion session, Cao Ying, the Party secretary, made a key speech. She stressed that taking the spirit of the central Party leadership's eight point decision on improving Party and government conduct as the yardstick, discipline construction should be integrated into all aspects such as discipline construction and talent cultivation. With a strict tone, the centralized rectification of problems should be promoted to achieve "effective results and zero clearance". Vice deans Li Shengjuan and Miao Yuqing, Party committee member Li Xiang, and teacher Party member representatives successively made exchange speeches. Combining with their respective in charge work, they deeply analyzed the pain points and difficulties in style construction.
