On June 7, 2025, the "Leica · Shanghai Metallography Cup" 3rd Shanghai College Students Metallography Skills Competition and the 14th National College Students Metallography Skills Competition (Shanghai Division) Repechage, along with the 3rd Shanghai College Students Metallography Conference, were held at Shanghai Sanda University. Our university's participating team consisted of 12 undergraduate students. Under the leadership of four instructors – Yue Xuezheng, Zhang Dongliang, Bi Wei, and Duan Pengyun – the students encouraged each other, collaborated effectively, and fully demonstrated the strength and team spirit of Shanghai University of Technology (USST) students.

This competition featured two tracks: the Metallography Skills Competition and the Metallography Conference. Leveraging their solid professional foundation and superb experimental skills, our university's team stood out in the fierce competition. In the Metallography Skills Competition track, they achieved outstanding results, winning 1First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, and 3 Third Prizes. In the Metallography Conference track, Li Siquan, a junior student, won the Shanghai First Prize. These accomplishments fully demonstrate the strong capabilities of the School of Materials and Chemistry (SSEC) in cultivating talents in the field of Materials Science and Engineering.
