On February 28, ahead of the third United Nations "World Seagrass Day" (March 1), Zhang Shuping’s Model Worker Innovation Studio for Algal Chemical Biomanufacturing organized a thematic event titled "Marine Ecological Conservation and the Legacy of Craftsmanship."

Zhang Shuping delivered a keynote report titled "Understanding Seaweeds," providing a systematic and in-depth explanation of the background and significance of the UN’s establishment of World Seagrass Day. She highlighted that in May 2022, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution A/RES/76/265, designating March 1 as World Seagrass Day to raise global awareness of seagrass conservation and promote the protection and sustainable development of marine ecosystems.

As a recipient of the third and tenth batches of Model Worker Innovation Studios recognized by Shanghai’s education system, Professor Zhang Shuping’s team seized the occasion of the third World Seagrass Day to host an open-day event at the studio. The initiative aims to advance the integration of industry, academia, and research and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
