On the morning of January 17, 2025, leaders of the School of Materials and Chemistry, including Party Secretary Cao Ying and Dean Wan Ying, led a team of faculty members to conduct safety and hygiene inspections of chemistry laboratories in the South Campus Science Building prior to the winter vacation.

The delegation meticulously inspected teaching and research laboratories. During the process, Vice Dean Miao Yuqing provided a detailed overview of the laboratory facilities and safety management practices. Secretary Cao Ying emphasized the imperative to secure the safety bottom line, thoroughly assess laboratory usage and student whereabouts during the vacation, and ensure the safety of personnel, property, and equipment. Dean Wan Ying underscored that all hazardous chemicals must be stored in designated cabinets, while flammable and explosive materials should be kept away from high-temperature equipment such as muffle furnaces. She also highlighted the critical role of laboratory cleanliness in safety and research efficiency, stressing the necessity to optimize and standardize laboratory operations and equipment usage.

This safety inspection served not only as a timely reminder for laboratory safety management ahead of the vacation but also as an on-site training session for laboratory management teams. It further reinforced safety protocols and elevated safety management standards, ensuring the safe and orderly operation of experimental teaching and scientific research activities.
