On the afternoon of January 3, 2025, 13 young faculty members from the Young Faculty Association of the School of Materials and Chemistry at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology visited the School of Materials Science and Engineering at East China University of Science and Technology  for the first "Heartfelt Journey of Youth" New Year exchange event for young faculty members. The event was held in the First Conference Hall of East China University of Science and Technology's Materials School.  

Yang Guangzhi, Director of the Energy and Environmental Materials Department at the host institution, outlined the school's developmental history and current status. He highlighted that the school has recruited a cohort of outstanding young faculty members in recent years, achieving significant breakthroughs across multiple research fields and injecting new vitality into the institution's growth. Additionally, Yang showcased the school's organization of major academic competitions, including the New Materials Competition, Metallographic Competition, and Chemical Experiment Competition, demonstrating its achievements in disciplinary advancement and practical education. He encouraged young faculty from both institutions to actively engage students in these competitions to enhance academic excellence and foster innovation capabilities.  

This exchange event established an effective communication platform for young scholars from both universities, strengthening cross-institutional collaboration and injecting fresh momentum into addressing academic challenges and advancing scientific progress.
