When it comes to seaweed, it may not be unfamiliar to everyone. How to make seaweeds serve the health of human life is the goal that scientists in the related fields have been diligently pursuing. As a leading talent in the field of seaweeds, Prof. Zhang Shuping of Shanghai Institute of Technology has been devoted to the research of seaweeds for 30 years, deciphering the secrets of life, continuously expanding and innovating to improve the chemical and biological manufacturing system of seaweeds, and innovating and launching a series of applications and products of seaweeds.

Zhang Shuping leads the industry profession in the field of seaweed and chemical medicine, publishing more than 100 papers, obtaining more than 10 national invention patents, editing three textbooks and monographs, and presiding over and completing nearly 20 seaweed-related projects such as the National Science and Technology Support Program, provincial and ministerial major special projects, and the Yangtze River Delta Joint Research Project. She has been awarded Shanghai March 8 Red Flag Pioneer, Women's Pioneer in Education System, State Council Model for Progress in National Unity, National Marine Innovation Achievement Award, Second Prize of Shanghai Technological Invention, Excellent Achievement of National Science and Technology for the Benefit of Citizens, etc. The Teaching Reform of Seaweeds Chemistry was awarded the Shanghai Teaching Achievement Award and so on, and these honors are the affirmation of her work for many years.
