On the morning of January 9, 2024, Zhao Ming, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the university and chief accountant of the university, led a team to carry out a laboratory safety inspection in the chemistry laboratory of the School of Materials and Chemistry, which is located in the Science Laboratory Building of the South Campus. Mr. Cao Jianwei, Deputy Director of Asset, Equipment and Laboratory Management Department, and Mr. Zhao Lei, Deputy Director of Security Department, accompanied the delegation. Mr. Zhou Tao, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Materials and Chemistry, and Mr. Miao Yuqing, vice dean of the School, accompanied the inspection.
Mr. Zhao and his team came to the Science Laboratory Building, checked the storage of waste liquid and the use of gas cylinders in the laboratory, and asked about the use and management of waste liquid safety cabinets, how to manage the use of hazardous chemicals in the laboratories shared by the subject groups, etc. The teachers in charge of the laboratories answered the questions one by one. Mr. Zhao affirmed the management of hazardous chemicals and gas cylinders in the laboratory, and put forward requirements for teachers to strengthen laboratory safety.
Mr. Miao Yuqing, vice dean of the school, also introduced the work of the School of Materials and Chemistry in the areas of laboratory culture and safety culture to Mr. Zhao and his delegation. Mr. Zhao believed that making full use of laboratory corridor space to build laboratory culture and safety culture can help create a healthy and upward learning and working atmosphere, which is of positive significance in relieving pressure and ensuring safety.
At the end of the inspection, Mr. Zhao once again put forward requirements for laboratory safety, hoping that the college would do a good job of laboratory safety during the holidays to ensure the safety of the college's teachers, students and laboratories.
