At 3:00 p.m. on December 12, 2023, a large amount of smoke suddenly came out of a laboratory on the 2nd floor of the Science Laboratory Building, the automatic fire alarm device rang loudly, and the radio broadcasted automatically to warn everyone to evacuate as soon as possible. The fire drill of the College of Materials and Chemistry officially started!

Teachers and students in the building heard the alarm, quickly put down the work at hand, bend over and cover their noses, along the evacuation stairway, quickly leave the materials building. Laboratory teachers saw the smoke and quickly organized the evacuation of teachers and students, and at the same time called the Security Office on duty to inform the scene, the Security Office and the Logistics Office received the system alarm, quickly drove a small fire extinguishing train and fire hoses to the Science Laboratory Building, pulled up the cordon, arranged the fire hose, and organized the fire extinguishing and the evacuation of teachers and students. The whole fire drill process was tense and orderly. After the escape drill, the staff of the Security Office trained the teachers and students of the college on the use of fire extinguishers, and the teachers and students of the college took an active part in it, practicing the actual operation in combination with the safety knowledge they had learned, which improved the safety awareness and fire prevention and extinguishing ability of the college's teachers and students.
