On the morning of October 14, our school held the award ceremony of "Shanghai Chemistry Wonderful Contest". Vice President Cai Yonglian, Director of Shanghai Popular Science Education Development Foundation Chen Yun, Secretary of Shanghai Popular Science Writers Association Jiang Shiliang, Deputy Director of Shanghai Popular Science Development Center Yu Yi, Director of Shanghai Ceramics Science and Technology Museum Cai Nianrui, Director of Shanghai Putuo New Literacy Education Service Center Yang Motion, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Materials and Chemistry Zhou Tao, the winners of the contest, and the media such as Shanghai Science and Technology Publishing House, Shanghai Science and Technology News and Science and Technology Vision attended the event. From March to October this year, funded by Shanghai Science Popularization Education Development Foundation, guided by Science Communication Working Committee of China Youth Science and Technology Educators Association, sponsored by Shanghai Institute of Technology, Shanghai Science Writers Association and Shanghai Science Popularization Center, supported by Shanghai Putuo New Literacy Education Service Center, and hosted by the School of Chemistry of Shanghai Institute of Technology, the Shanghai Chemical and Biotechnology Competition collected 127 entries. The "Shanghai Chemistry Wonderful Thinking Contest" collected 127 entries with rich contents, including poems, novels, songs, videos, paintings, photographs, teaching aids and toys, crafts, researches, and ideas, etc. After the evaluation by the expert judging committee, the entries were evaluated. After the evaluation by the expert evaluation committee, 12 pieces of first prize, 22 pieces of second prize, 24 pieces of third prize and 10 outstanding instructors were awarded. Some of the outstanding works were recommended to be published in Chemistry Newsletter, Science and Technology Perspectives, Middle School Science and Technology and other journals one after another. Cai Yonglian, Chen Yun, Yu Yi vice for the first prize winners and excellent instructors awards. Participating leaders, experts, teachers and students unanimously agreed that this event is quite creative in igniting passion, inspiring thinking and integrating science and humanities, etc. Jiang Shiliang highly affirmed this activity and looked forward to continuing the competition in the coming year.
This activity is a concrete implementation of the university's service to the society by actively responding to the national advocacy and requirements in the fields of science popularization, science creation and quality education in the new era, and has won positive social reputation and influence for the university.
