On July 1, 2023, our college held the 2023 National Summer Camp for Outstanding Undergraduates. Professor Guisheng Li, Vice President of the College, Professor Wei Li, Vice President of the College, and Associate Professor Shengjuan Li, Vice President of the College, as well as representatives from various departments and research teams attended the opening ceremony.

In the morning of July 1, Prof. Guisheng Li delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the college, and announced the opening of the 2023 National Outstanding Students' Summer Camp in the words of "Ignite academic passion, let the sparks of wisdom collide freely, and let students from all over the world enjoy the academic feast". At the same time, he introduced the basic situation of Shanghai University of Technology and the College of Materials and Chemistry, and briefly introduced the professional settings, disciplinary points, faculty strength and laboratory platform of the College. After that, Prof. Li Wei and Prof. Wang Shige introduced the development status of Materials Science and Engineering and Chemistry respectively, and the representatives of 12 research teams of School of Materials and Chemistry introduced their research directions and academic achievements. In the afternoon, Mr. Wang Xinxue introduced the scholarships and student activities of the university and the college; outstanding student representatives Ouyang Yongliang and Ye Xiangyang introduced their study history in the College of Materials and Chemistry from the aspects of research and life respectively. In the selection of outstanding campers, 42 outstanding campers were selected by experts' comments in response to the personal style of campers. Vice President Li Shengjuan read out the list of outstanding campers. Mr. Lu Zhihan from Anhui University of Technology and Mr. Wang Qingyan from Shanghai University of Technology spoke on behalf of the outstanding campers.
