In order to promote the cultivation of innovation spirit, innovation consciousness and innovation ability of undergraduates, and to promote the reform of experimental teaching and the improvement of teaching quality of chemistry, materials and other related disciplines in our college, the first 2023 Experimental Innovation Design Competition for Undergraduates in Chemistry and the 4th National Experimental Innovation Design Competition for Undergraduates in Chemistry (East China Region), which was organized by the Double Innovation Working Group of the college, was held on May 4 in Smart Classroom 102 of the 4th Teaching Building of South Campus.

The competition was conducted in the form of student teams, and a total of 9 teams registered to participate, including 6 newly created experimental designs, 1 existing experimental improvement design, and 2 popular science experimental designs. After the qualifying examination of the works, 7 works were selected as finalists. Professor Zhang Jianrong from Nanjing University and Professor Sun Xingwen from Fudan University were invited as the evaluation experts, through the evaluation of the works and on-site defense, 3 first prizes, 2 second prizes and 2 third prizes were evaluated by the experts, and the 3 teams who won the first prize were recommended to participate in the "Fourth National Student Experimental Chemistry Innovation Design Competition (East China Region)" on behalf of the university. The three teams who won the first prize were recommended to participate in the "Fourth National Student Experimental Design Competition (East China Region)".
