I Do Practical Things for Fellow Students | Volunteer Work in the Sweltering Summer, Dormitory Relocation Warms Hearts

Author:Views:Time:2025-07-07

To ensure the orderly progress of the dormitory relocation for the 2024 undergraduate cohort of our school and inherit the volunteer service spirit of "Dedication, Fraternity, Mutual Assistance, and Progress", the School of Materials and Chemistry launched a volunteer service activity for new students' dormitory relocation on July 5, 2025. The school's volunteers worked together in perfect coordination and took active actions in the intense heat, successfully completing this volunteer service activity.   During the preparation stage of the activity, the volunteer team learned about the new students' information in advance, formulated a phased work plan based on the departure schedule, and clarified the division of tasks such as luggage handling and route guidance. These measures ensured the reasonable arrangement of personnel and efficient implementation of work, laying a solid foundation for the 2024 undergraduates to smoothly arrive at their new dormitories and complete the check-in process.   At 6 a.m. on July 5, the first batch of volunteers had already waited at the entrance of the dormitory building early, greeting the 2024 juniors and juniors with full enthusiasm. As the vehicles arrived at the 580 Campus, the volunteers acted quickly: they took the initiative to help unload and carry luggage from the vehicles, assisted with registration procedures, and accompanied the juniors and juniors to their new dormitories, providing "one-stop" services throughout the process. Despite the high temperature on that day, everyone still devoted themselves to the work with high spirits. Although sweat soaked their clothes, the volunteers' warm smiles and busy figures became the most touching scene on campus in the sweltering summer. At 12 noon, when it was confirmed that the centralized relocation of the dormitory buildings for the 2024 undergraduates of the school had been successfully completed, this campus relocation volunteer service activity officially came to an end.   This relocation volunteer service activity not only demonstrated the sense of responsibility of the students of the School of Materials and Chemistry, but also made the 2024 undergraduates who moved into the main campus for the first time feel the warmth of the school's big family. In the future, the school will continue to deepen the construction of the volunteer service brand, and looks forward to more students joining the volunteer team to inherit and carry forward the fine tradition of volunteer service of our school, and integrate the spirit of dedication into every corner of campus life.
