Professor Xiao shuning was approved as a special carbon peak and carbon neutralization project in Shanghai

Recently, Shanghai Science and Technology Commission issued a notice on the proposed projects (the first batch) of the special project of carbon peak and carbon neutralization supported by science and technology in Shanghai's 2021 "science and technology innovation action plan", and a total of 39 projects were approved. The project of "Research on Key Technologies of interface regulation of CO2 multi carbon conversion catalytic materials" applied by Xiao shuning, teacher of the school of materials and chemistry of our university, has been approved. This project is the only special project of carbon neutralization approved by our university at present.


In order to cope with climate change, China has put forward solemn goals and commitments such as "strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060". In this year's government work report, "doing a good job in carbon peak and carbon neutralization" is listed as one of the key tasks in 2021; The 14th five year plan will also include accelerating the promotion of green and low-carbon development. As a cheap and clean energy conversion technology, photocatalytic CO2 reduction shows great application prospects in promoting green and low-carbon cycle and realizing carbon peak and carbon neutralization on schedule.


Xiao shuning is a distinguished professor of overseas high-level talents introduced by our university in 2020. He has long been engaged in microwave preparation of multi-level structural composites and their applications in the fields of energy, environment and catalysis. Based on the interaction between condensed materials and electromagnetic waves, the dipole nano antenna effect of nano carbon materials and the super hot surface effect of nano metals under microwave are proposed, and the application of microwave technology in nano material synthesis and chemical reaction is developed. In recent five years, he has published more than 30 SCI papers in top energy and environment journals such as nature communications, advanced energy materials, Environmental Science & technology, with a citation of 1286, and presided over the National Natural Science Youth Fund and Shanghai municipal scientific research and talent projects.
