【Academic Competition】Notice of the Final of the 12th Shanghai University Students' New Materials Innovation and Creativity Competition & the 3rd "Nalinwei Cup" Most Commercially Potential Competition

Ⅰ. The 12th Shanghai University Students' New Materials Innovation and Creativity CompetitionOrganizer: Shanghai New Materials Association  Undertaker: University of Shanghai for Science and Technology  Co-organizers: Shanghai Polyurethane Industry Association, Shanghai Die & Mould Industry Association, Shanghai Non-Ferrous Metals Society  Final Time: September 27, 2025 (Saturday), 8:00-16:30  Final Format:    1. Centralized exhibition, inquiry and scoring by judges, followed by the selection of recommended projects for the Second Prize, Third Prize and First Prize.    2. Project defense (PPT preparation required).   Each participating team will be provided with an exhibition space of 2m × 2m × 2m (equipped with one table and three walls; see attached figure). Teams can independently decide on the exhibition method, which may include posters, display boards, videos, physical objects, etc. The display of physical works is strongly encouraged. On the final day, each team shall stay at their booth to answer inquiries from experts. Additionally, each team is required to prepare a 5-minute PPT for the First Prize defense.  Final Venue: Sports Activity Center of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (next to the Materials Building)   All participating teams are requested to arrive at the competition venue for booth setup on September 26 (Friday), 9:00-16:00.  Notes:    1. To ensure the rational on-site arrangement of the final in line with the schedule, all teams are required to scan the QR code to report the following situations. The deadline for reporting is 4:00 p.m. on September 17:       a. Giving up participation in the final;       b. Not participating in on-site booth setup;       c. Needing power supply for the exhibition.       If none of the above three situations apply to your team, there is no need to fill in the form via QR code scanning.       Project leaders are reminded that once the registration for "giving up the final" or "not participating in on-site booth setup" is submitted, the organizing committee will no longer reserve an on-site booth for the team.  

2. All participating teams must submit the original copies of the Work Application Form (5 copies in total, with the official seal of the university/college affixed) to the Conference Secretariat at Conference Room 217 of the Materials Building, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, during 9:00-15:00 on September 26 (Friday). Teams that fail to provide complete materials or the form without the official seal will be disqualified from the competition.    3. The Work Application Form requires recommendations from two referees (one supervisor and one teacher with senior professional title, both of whom must sign the form). The referees shall be experts, scholars or professional and technical personnel in the same or related fields as the applied work (collective recommendation by the teaching and research section is also acceptable).    4. For supporting materials such as patents, papers and other award certificates related to the content of the participating work, the original copies and one set of photocopies must be provided, and at least one member of the participating team shall be included in the authorship of these materials.    5. All participating teams must bring their ID cards or print the **Participation Certificate(see Attachment 2) by themselves, which shall be presented when entering the university campus.    6. For other matters not covered herein, please send an email to clds@usst.edu.cn or consult in the WeChat notification group of the competition.  Ⅱ. The 3rd "Nalinwei Cup" Most Commercially Potential CompetitionOrganizers: University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Shanghai New Materials Association  Undertaker: Shanghai Nalinwei Technology Co., Ltd.   The final of this competition will be held simultaneously with the 3rd "Nalinwei Cup" Most Commercially Potential Competition, which aims to identify projects with commercial promotion value among the undergraduate group of the New Materials Innovation and Creativity Competition. The competition organizing committee will collaborate with relevant enterprises to select works with commercial promotion value from the participating projects to enter the final. The final will conduct individual awards through forms such as project roadshows. The specific projects and requirements for participating in the roadshow will be notified separately via email. All undergraduate project teams are requested to pay attention to checking their emails subsequently.
