On July 10, 2025, a delegation from the School of Materials and Chemistry at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), including Party Committee Secretary Cao Ying, Deputy Secretary Dong Xiaoliang, and liaison officer Chen Xiaohong, visited Shanghai Silin Special Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. for an exchange meeting. The company’s General Manager Yu Banghui, technical experts Zhu Xindi and Huang Xiaoming, warmly received the guests.

During the exchange, both parties reviewed their previous collaborative achievements. Shanghai Silin Special Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd., with its long-term dedication to the special equipment sector, has accumulated extensive experience and resources in the industry. The company donated 1 million yuan to establish the Silin Scholarship at the university. In return, the USST School of Materials and Chemistry provided robust technical support in areas such as materials development and chemical engineering. In a previous collaboration, the two parties successfully tackled challenges in cable R&D. When the company encountered production bottlenecks, the school’s research team dedicated efforts to studying material properties and optimizing processes, assisting the company in adding new equipment and upgrading techniques. These efforts ultimately led to the successful development of a new product that met all requirements.

At the symposium, Secretary Cao Ying emphasized the school’s commitment to cultivating high-quality talent with both theoretical knowledge and practical abilities. She noted that deep collaboration with enterprises enables students to better understand industry needs and enhance their professional skills. She also shared the school’s recent breakthroughs and progress in scientific research, expressing hope to align these advancements with the company’s practical needs to further promote the application of research outcomes.

Shanghai Silin Special Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. expressed sincere gratitude for the school’s support in their past collaborations and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with USST. The company hopes to leverage the school’s strong research capabilities to achieve new breakthroughs in improving material performance and optimizing product costs. Additionally, the company pledged to provide more internship and employment opportunities for students.

The two parties also discussed matters related to the scholarship. The school provided an overview of the current selection and distribution process for the Silin Scholarship, highlighting the newly established freshman scholarship, which has attracted many outstanding students and yielded significant results during this year’s admissions. Moving forward, both parties plan to expand the scholarship’s coverage by increasing quotas for relevant disciplines across the university, encouraging more students from diverse academic backgrounds to pursue studies and research in related fields.

This exchange visit injected new vitality into the collaboration between the USST School of Materials and Chemistry and Shanghai Silin Special Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. Both sides aim to use this opportunity to continuously expand and deepen their cooperation, achieving mutual benefits and contributing to industry advancement and societal development.
