On May 16, Wang Lingyu, Secretary of the University Party Committee, led a delegation to the School of Materials and Chemistry to investigate and provide guidance on the school's implementation of educational activities regarding the Central Eight-Point Decision, while also reviewing the progress of the school's comprehensive education reform. Kong Xiameng, Deputy Director of both the Party Committee Office and the President's Office, accompanied the delegation. The meeting was chaired by Cao Ying, Secretary of the School's Party Committee, with attendance from the school's leadership team, faculty representatives, and party branch secretaries.
During the meeting, Wan Ying, Dean of the School of Materials and Chemistry, reported on the progress of the school's reform initiatives, focusing on key areas including discipline development, talent cultivation, and scientific research innovation. She detailed the reform measures implemented, interim achievements made, and future plans. Cao Ying, Secretary of the School's Party Committee, presented the school's efforts in thoroughly implementing educational activities related to the Central Eight-Point Decision. The school has strictly adhered to the university's requirements by carefully conducting mobilization, implementation arrangements, supervision and inspection, while actively advancing theoretical studies, research visits, problem identification, and corrective actions.
Secretary Wang Lingyu engaged in in-depth discussions with attendees regarding challenges encountered during the reform process and mechanisms for sustaining educational activities, offering guidance and suggestions. He emphasized that deepening reforms must closely align with the university's development strategy, focus on the objectives of comprehensive education reform, and use interdisciplinary integration as a breakthrough point to stimulate innovation and enhance the school's core competitiveness. Regarding educational activities, he stressed the need for persistent efforts to closely integrate the implementation of the Central Eight-Point Decision with daily work, strengthen accountability, and foster a clean and upright political environment conducive to education.
The School of Materials and Chemistry will take this investigative guidance meeting as an opportunity to effectively advance reform tasks, continuously deepen educational efforts, and promote high-quality development of the school's undertakings through high-standard party building.
