In order to thoroughly implement the requirements for building a teaching workforce in the new era and fully leverage the leading role of teaching competitions in enhancing teachers' professional competence, our college held the 12th Young Teachers' Teaching Competition and Teaching Observation and Seminar on April 25. The event, guided by the principle of "fostering virtue through education and promoting teaching through competition," aimed to guide young teachers to refine their fundamental teaching skills, innovate teaching methods, and deepen the integration of ideological and political elements into curricula through three key segments: competition showcases, observation exchanges, and seminar discussions. The overarching goal was to comprehensively improve the quality of undergraduate education and teaching, laying a solid foundation for cultivating high-quality innovative talent. The judging panel included Tong Yuanwei, Director of the Teacher Development Center and Deputy Director of the Teacher Work Department; Gao Xiumin, Vice Dean of the School of Optical-Electrical Engineering; Fang Zhiming, Vice Dean of the School of Management; outstanding teacher Gu Zhengxian; Li Zhengming, teaching supervisor from the School of Management; and retired teacher Zhu Li. College leaders such as Party Secretary Cao Ying, Vice Dean Li Shengjuan, and Ouyang Ruizhuo, Director of the Chemistry Department, also attended the event.

After preliminary selections and recommendations from various departments, nine young teachers participated in the competition. The format consisted of an 18–20-minute teaching demonstration by each participant, followed by collective feedback from the judges.

The competing teachers prepared meticulously with full enthusiasm and a rigorous professional attitude. Their teaching content was both accessible and profound, covering a wide range of knowledge while emphasizing key points. The judges provided detailed and professional comments on aspects such as course introduction design, integration of ideological and political elements, innovation in teaching methods, and language expression skills, with particular emphasis on the central role of ethics and conduct in education. These constructive suggestions not only helped the competing teachers improve but also inspired all observing teachers, fulfilling the competition's purpose of promoting teaching and collective growth.

Through rigorous evaluation, the judging panel conducted a comprehensive assessment based on four dimensions: teaching content design, teaching organization, language expression and teaching demeanor, and teaching innovation. Combining quantitative scoring with collective deliberation, the final awards were determined as follows: Special Prize (2 winners): Xiao Shuning, Song Xueling,First Prize (4 winners): Bi Wei, Ma Zhong, Song Wenliang, Wu Yixuan,Second Prize (3 winners): Deng Qinyue, Ding Zhiyi, Wu Fanjing.
