On the afternoon of 6 September 2024, the School of Materials and Chemistry held a meeting with sophomore freshmen and a mobilisation meeting for acquaintance internship for the majors of Materials Science and Engineering and Materials Forming and Control Engineering in the Lecture Hall of the Auxiliary Building of Advanced Manufacturing Building. The head of the Department of Energy and Environmental Materials, the secretary of the Party branch, the deputy head of the Department of Energy and Environmental Materials and the Department of Electromechanical Materials and Forming, as well as the class teacher of the class of 2023 and the lead teacher of the acquaintance internship attended the meeting.

Yang Guangzhi, Dean of the Department of Energy and Environmental Materials, introduced the situation of sophomore students, their professional background, professional faculty, and mentorship. He hoped that the students would study the cultivation plan carefully, develop comprehensively, make full use of the resources inside and outside the university, set clear personal goals, and achieve these goals through continuous efforts.
