On November 3, Professor Dionisio Zaldivar Silva, Executive Vice President of the University of Havana, Cuba, accompanied by Fan Bin, Director of the Results Transformation Department of the Technology Transfer Center of our university, visited the bismuth science research center of the School of Materials and Chemistry. Professor Miao Yuqing, Vice Dean of the School of Materials and Chemistry and Director of the Bismuth Science Research Center, all teachers of the Bismuth Science and Biomedical Materials Team and some graduate students participated in the exchange talks.

Miao Yuqing first expressed a warm welcome to Professor Silva's arrival, and then introduced the research team's research progress in the field of biomedical materials and tumor energy diagnosis and treatment. He especially mentioned the good cooperative relationship that Wang Shige and Ouyang Ruizhuan had established with the University of Havana, and three high-level papers on cooperative research had been published, including two in Area II. The team also has a number of cooperative research being continuously promoted. Professor Silva made a detailed introduction to the University of Havana, and fully affirmed and highly appreciated the implementation of the phased cooperative research results. The teachers present spoke actively in a warm and friendly atmosphere. They all agreed to actively promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in terms of mutual visits between teachers and students, joint education, scientific research cooperation, academic and cultural exchanges, etc. Both parties will carry out detailed planning and discussion on the next stage of research. It is believed that this face-to-face discussion and exchange between the two sides will also further promote cooperative research in tumor energy diagnosis and treatment and other fields.

Later, Professor Silva came to the bismuth scientific research center to visit the laboratory. Miao Yuqing interpreted the development and unique logo connotation of Bismuth Scientific Research Center for Professor Silva, and presented monographs. Professor Silva spoke highly of and appreciated the research results of the corridor of the Research Center and the combination of culture and art to educate people, and expressed expectations for the cooperation between the two sides in science, technology, humanities, academic and cultural exchanges, etc. This exchange is of positive significance for promoting international exchanges and interactions between Havana University and Shanghai University of Technology, and is conducive to promoting in-depth cooperation and exchanges between the two sides.
