At 3:00 pm on Nov. 22, 2022, there was heavy smoke in the lobby on the first floor of the Material Building. The automatic fire-fighting alarm device sounded, and the warning of quick evacuation was on the radio. Hearing the alarm, the teachers and students in the building quickly set aside the work in progress and bent down to cover their noses. They quickly left the Material Building along the evacuation exits. The lab teacher, after seeing the smoke, quickly called the Department of Safety and Security to inform the situation. The personnel in the Department of Safety and Security and the Department of Logistics, after receiving the system alert, drove the small fire vehicle to the Material Building with the fire hose. They pulled up the warning line, arranged the fire hose, extinguished the fire and organized the evacuation of teachers and students. The entire fire drill was intensely and orderly carried out. After the escape drill, the working personnel of the Department of Safety and Security conducted the operation training of fire extinguishers for the teachers and students. The teachers and students of the School took an active part in the training and exercised based on the safety knowledge they learned, which improved the teachers' and students' safety awareness and ability of fire prevention and fighting.
