Symposium Scene
Liu Hong, on behalf of the principals of four enterprises, extended a warm welcome to the visitors of the School of Materials and Chemistry. She stated that the environmental protection enterprise subordinated to Huayi Group has cooperated with the Chemistry of USST for a long time. She hoped that this exchange could expand the cooperation areas between enterprises and SMC, and continuously promote scientific and technological innovation and achievement transformation in the environmental protection area by relying on the scientific research force of SMC. The principles of the four enterprises then respectively introduced the main lines of business, enterprise culture, staff training, industry-university-research cooperation, recruitment, etc.
Li Shengjuan introduced the history, discipline construction and scientific research team of the School of Materials and Chemistry, and expressed gratitude to the enterprises for their support and assistance in talent training and school-enterprise cooperation. She hoped that the School and the enterprise would take this exchange as an opportunity to further expand areas of cooperation, focus on the training of undergraduates, graduates and doctors, scientific research and achievements transformation, etc., and vigorously promote the industry-education integration.
Yan Jin introduced students' employment of the School in recent years and the graduates of Class 2023. She stated that the excellent qualities of the students, such as strong capability of independent innovation and hard work, fit well with Huayi Group's enterprise culture. She hoped to explore multi-level, multi-form and multi-field cooperation through preaching recruitment, talent interaction, etc., thus accurately promoting graduates to find more suitable jobs and boosting students' employment.
The two sides at the symposium also reached a multidimensional consensus on the joint cultivation of the undergraduates, graduates and doctors, curriculum construction, off-campus tutors, and the construction of practice and training bases, etc. Li Wei stated that he hoped to explore the construction of a joint cultivation base with the enterprises present here, tackle key problems jointly, cultivate highly-competent talents for enterprises while solving technological problem, thus establishing a long-term mechanism for educating people in cooperation with industries, and achieving the goal of improving the training quality of outstanding and innovative talents. Zhang Shuping suggested breaking down the employment barriers to achieve targeted employment, through the way of knowledge study plus practical training and the form of campus training plus enterprise practice.
The School, through the targeted communication with the enterprises, has deeply analyzed the development status of the industry and the new requirements for enterprises to employ personnel, which has played a significant role in promoting the school-enterprise cooperation, the industry-education integration, and improving the quality of talent training. Our School will assign students to form a "School-enterprise Joint Team" with Huayi Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. to participate in the Shanghai Environmental Professional Skills Contest this year.
