In 2015, Zhang Xin received her bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. She recently completed her PhD program at the University of Hull and is currently employed as an R&D scientist at AlkzoNobel in England.On December 15, she was invited to share her inspiring stories and valuable experiences with students. During the conversation, she encouraged all attendees to face failure bravely, work hard, set clear life goals, remain dedicated to their initial aspirations, and recognize the value of life. Additionally, she provided valuable advice to students, urging them to put down their cellphones, seize opportunities, study diligently to surpass their own limitations, and strive to become the best and most outstanding individuals. She expressed her belief that students should not limit themselves and that as long as they are willing to embrace new experiences, they will find success.Furthermore, Zhang expressed her strong desire to establish collaborations in research and education with her Alma mater, the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, in the near future. She hopes to contribute to the international development of the university.This talk exemplifies the influential and guiding role that exceptional alumni play in shaping culture, academia, and ideology. It broadens students’ perspectives and stimulates their enthusiasm for learning. We firmly believe that the power of leading by example can inspire students to work diligently and make the most of their youth.
