On the morning of August 18, Wan Ying, Dean of the School of Materials and Chemistry, led a team to conduct research and exchanges at Shanghai Yilang Alloy Materials Co., Ltd. Dong Xiaoliang, Deputy Party‑Secretary of the School, Li Shengjuan, Vice‑Dean, and relevant faculty representatives participated in the investigation and extended condolences to alumni working at the enterprise. Zhao Jun, Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Shanghai New Materials Association, attended the event together with relevant representatives.

Ning Xinwei, Executive Vice‑President of Yilang Alloy, warmly received the delegation, accompanied by Wang Zhigang, Dean of its Research Institute, Si Zhouxiang, General Manager of the Operation Service Center, Wang Qingzeng, Chief Expert on High‑Temperature Alloys, and Li Zhi, an alumnus of our university employed by the company.

Si Zhouxiang presented an introduction to the enterprise. He elaborated on its development history, corporate culture, product portfolio, key scientific and technological research achievements and future plans. Meanwhile, he introduced the company’s outstanding accomplishments in the localization of special alloys, put forward technical bottlenecks concerning processing‑technology optimization and cutting‑edge new‑material research and development, and voiced demands for talent recruitment and

 industry‑university‑research collaborative cooperation.

Li Shengjuan introduced the university and the school. She presented the university’s progress in building a first‑class innovative science‑and‑engineering university from the perspectives of university overview, talent cultivation, scientific and technological innovation. She also detailed the school’s development blueprint, discipline development, scientific research, as well as industry‑education integration initiatives including training of outstanding engineering‑innovation talents, reform of professional master’s programs and integrated undergraduate‑postgraduate education.

Led by Ning Xinwei, both sides held in‑depth discussions on joint talent cultivation, collaborative scientific research, joint project application, and the construction of internship and practical‑training bases. The enterprise hoped to leverage the university’s research strength to tackle technical challenges and recruit undergraduate, master’s and doctoral talents with relevant expertise. The school intended to take advantage of the enterprise’s practical engineering scenarios to enable engineering‑talent training to address real‑world industrial problems, and deepen cooperation models such as industrial professors, part‑time master supervisors and targeted order‑oriented classes, so as to realize complementary resources for both parties.

Wan Ying delivered a concluding speech. She pointed out that further promoting school‑enterprise collaborative talent cultivation is an inevitable requirement for responding to the University’s “Leap‑Forward Initiative” and advancing its comprehensive reform. The School will maintain close contact with the enterprise, strive to give play to its disciplinary strengths, precisely match the enterprise’s development demands, open up two‑way channels for talent delivery and scientific‑research cooperation, advance the implementation of cooperation projects covering order‑oriented classes, industrial professors and joint research, and achieve mutually‑beneficial development for both sides.

After the forum, representatives from the university, the enterprise and the association jointly visited the new‑plant construction site of Yilang Alloy, conducting an on‑site inspection of production‑line construction and equipment commissioning.

This field investigation has further consolidated the foundation for school‑enterprise cooperation, clarified priorities for follow‑up industry‑education integration work, and laid a solid foundation for deepening joint talent cultivation, collaborative scientific research and achieving win‑win school‑enterprise development.
