On the afternoon of July 3, Liu Cunlin, Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection and Chairman of the Trade Union of Shanghai Huizhong Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and his delegation visited the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. The two sides held a forum in Room 212 of Qinye Building. Zhao Ning, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, relevant leaders from the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Materials and Chemistry, and Shanghai Huizhong Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. attended the meeting. The forum was presided over by Li Chuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering.
On behalf of the university, Zhao Ning extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Shanghai Huizhong Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Based on the university’s 120‑year‑long educational heritage, he systematically introduced the overall development of the university. He highlighted major progress in the comprehensive education reform, achievements in upgrading distinctive and advantageous disciplines, and key work concerning the establishment of an innovative talent training system, fully demonstrating the university’s comprehensive strength and developmental advantages in discipline development, talent cultivation and scientific‑research innovation.
Subsequently, Liu Cunlin gave a detailed introduction to the overall development layout, operational scale and industry trends of Shanghai Huizhong Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Centering on the enterprise’s core development drivers, he elaborated on its core technological strengths and cutting‑edge research layout in R&D of complete automobiles and auto parts, intelligent manufacturing, and transformation of technological achievements. He also outlined the enterprise’s current key technical challenges, layout of major scientific‑research projects, and plans for industrial innovation and upgrading. Meanwhile, he elaborated on the enterprise’s current and future talent reserve demands, post competency requirements and expectations for talent‑training cooperation. He clarified the enterprise’s vision for cooperation in industry‑university‑research integration, joint construction of internship and practical training bases, targeted talent cultivation, and joint tackling of scientific‑research projects, laying a solid foundation for subsequent in‑depth and targeted university‑enterprise collaboration.
Li Chuan, Party Committee Secretary of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and Cao Ying, Party Committee Secretary of the School of Materials and Chemistry, delivered special presentations in succession. They reported in detail on the distinctive discipline development, core research orientations, multi‑level talent training modes, as well as typical cases and outcomes of previous university‑enterprise cooperation of their respective schools, comprehensively showcasing the resource advantages and practical experience of the two schools in university‑local and university‑enterprise cooperation.
During the interactive discussion session, the two sides conducted in‑depth deliberations on topics including new‑material application, joint student training and internship programmes, and reached a number of preliminary cooperation intentions. After the forum, the delegation from Shanghai Huizhong Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. visited relevant laboratories and the Liu Zhan‑en Memorial Hall to experience the university’s historical and cultural heritage as well as its educational traditions.
This exchange further deepened mutual understanding and laid a sound foundation for substantive cooperation in scientific‑research projects, talent training and Party‑building collaboration in the future. Both sides stated that they would take this meeting as an opportunity to further deepen the integration of industry and education, and jointly promote technological innovation in the automobile manufacturing sector and the cultivation of high‑quality application‑oriented talents.
