On December 9th, the 31st Shangcai Academic Forum was successfully held in the No.1 Meeting Room of the University Library and Information Center. In response to the call of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that science and technology are the primary productive force, talent is the primary resource, and innovation is the primary driving force, the forum invited three outstanding doctoral candidates in professional fields to share their research achievements and experience.
Guo Jiaxuan, a 2024 doctoral candidate from the School of Materials and Chemistry, took the research and development of TA/PA/PVA series hydrogel dressings as an example to share the whole process from the establishment of scientific research ideas to the improvement of the experimental system. Starting with the design of multifunctional materials, she systematically introduced the self-healing and high-adhesion hydrogel system formed by tannic acid (TA) with polyacrylic acid (PA) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) through hydrogen bonding and dynamic interactions. Combined with previous experiments, she demonstrated its application potential in wound repair and tissue regeneration.
Zhi Yu, a 2023 doctoral candidate from the School of Health Science and Engineering, delivered a speech entitled Weaving Dreams with Intelligent Medical Devices, Creating the World with Skillful Hands. Based on patent achievements such as the self-driven modular semi-palm prosthetic hand, he disassembled the skills for writing, submitting and replying to examination opinions of mechanical and control patents, and shared how to transform technological innovation into practical products that improve patients' lives.
Yan Zhikai, a 2023 doctoral candidate from the School of Materials and Chemistry, gave a talk themed Methods and Skills of Academic Paper Writing, sharing practical experience from topic selection and preparation, structure construction, writing tools to revision and improvement. He pointed out that topic selection should combine cutting-edge research with personal capabilities, and recommended commonly used writing tools. He emphasized that revisions should focus on logic, structure, innovation and standardization, and suggested improving writing quality by imitating sample papers and building a corpus.
In the Q&A session, students asked questions enthusiastically, and the three guests answered each question in detail, creating a lively on-site communication atmosphere.
The sharing at this forum is both professional and practical, providing postgraduates with valuable experience in scientific research practice, patent writing and academic paper composition. In the future, the Shangcai Academic Forum will continue to invite outstanding scholars from various fields to give lectures, injecting more vitality into academic innovation and the growth of students on campus.
