On the morning of December 9, President Kwon Jin-hoi of Gyeongsang National University, South Korea, led a delegation to visit the university. President Zhu Xinyuan and Vice President Cai Yonglian of the university met with the guests. Representatives and faculty members from the Party and Administration Office, International Affairs Office, College of Materials and Chemistry, and College of Management attended the discussion.
Zhu Xinyuan extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Gyeongsang National University and introduced the university's history, distinctive features in talent cultivation, and international exchanges. Shanghai University of Technology is committed to cultivating high-quality, exceptional engineering innovators, while Gyeongsang National University is distinguished for its integration of industry and education as well as its focus on cultivating application-oriented talents. Its educational philosophy and talent cultivation goals align closely with those of Shanghai University of Technology. This revisit by Gyeongsang National University injects new momentum into the collaboration between the two universities, which will facilitate the implementation of specific cooperative projects and yield substantive outcomes.
Kwon Jin-hoi introduced the educational characteristics and development vision of Gyeongsang National University. In recent years, South Korea has focused on technological innovation and industrial upgrading, increasing investment in educational resources in fields such as high-end manufacturing. As a leading regional university, Gyeongsang National University has consistently aligned its discipline development and research innovation with industrial needs, demonstrating strong capabilities in areas such as materials science and mechanical engineering. He expressed hope that the two universities could fully integrate their disciplinary and industrial resources to achieve complementary advantages and mutual development, thereby injecting new impetus into higher education cooperation and industrial upgrading between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on faculty and student exchanges, joint cultivation programs, and scientific research, clarifying specific directions for further deepening cooperation.
