To thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the gathering commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and to inspire Party-member teachers to strengthen their ideals and convictions, unify their will and pool their strength for reform and development, on October 21st, the Faculty Party Branch of the Department of Energy and Environmental Materials, together with the Faculty Party Branch of Materials Forming and Control Engineering from the School of Materials and Chemistry, jointly organized a themed Party activity at the Qian Xuesen Library & Museum located at No. 1800 Huashan Road, Xuhui District. Through on-site visits and learning, the participants deeply perceived the profound patriotic feelings and noble scientific spirit of the people's scientist Mr. Qian Xuesen.
Guided by the docents, the Party-member teachers launched a spiritual dialogue spanning time and space. The thematic exhibition, with Mr. Qian's life and achievements as the main thread, systematically demonstrated his extraordinary contributions to the aerospace industry, frontier scientific fields, moral integrity, and strategic thinking. Yellowed manuscripts, homecoming letters filled with earnest expectations, and physical exhibits witnessing major scientific breakthroughs were displayed in an orderly manner, each telling the magnificent life story of Mr. Qian Xuesen. During the visit, all participants listened attentively to the explanations, paused to admire the precious historical relics, documents, and video records. They were deeply moved by Mr. Qian's profound love for the motherland, his unremitting pursuit of science, as well as his rigorous academic attitude and spirit of selfless dedication.
This themed Party activity was not only a vivid education on Party spirit but also a profound ideological enlightenment. The Party members all expressed that they would keep their original aspirations and missions firmly in mind, take the scientist Qian Xuesen as a role model, and integrate the spirit of Qian Xuesen into teaching and scientific research. They pledged to take the lead in advancing the comprehensive education reform of the university and the school, deepen the integration of industry and education, serve the development of related industries, expand international cooperation, and cultivate more outstanding professionals in materials and chemistry with a strong sense of family and country for the Party and the nation.
