On the occasion of the approaching Double Ninth Festival, the Psychological Association of the School of Materials and Chemistry, in collaboration with the Cultural and Creative Department of the Student Union, successfully held the thematic event Scented Sachets, Warm Wishes for Double Ninth in Room 108, Gezhi Hall on October 29, 2025. Leaders from the university and college Care for the Next Generation Committee, retired and young faculty representatives, along with students, gathered together to embrace a blend of traditional culture and heartfelt warmth.

Centered on the theme of Inheriting the Virtue of Respecting the Elderly and Promoting Traditional Culture, the event invited Zhu Li from the college's Care for the Next Generation Committee to deliver an educational lecture. Zhu Li systematically outlined the historical development and cultural characteristics of the university and the school, sharing her personal growth experiences. From knowing and loving the university to bringing it honor and contributing to its prosperity, and from study methods to personal conduct, she provided guidance to the students with her time-honored insights.

During the sachet-making session, teachers and students blended herbs such as mugwort and lavender, embroidering exclusive sachets and enjoying the fun of hands-on creation. Simultaneously, a blessing-writing activity allowed participants to convey their emotions through brush and ink, embedding wishes for health and peace into the sachets. The exchange session was particularly touching, as teachers and students gifted each other their handmade creations, facilitating a two-way flow of warmth.

This event not only allowed teachers and students to deeply experience the cultural significance of the Double Ninth Festival—embodying the idea of double nine returning to authenticity and respecting the elderly—but also built a bridge for emotional communication between them. In the future, the school will continue to explore the value of traditional festivals, promoting traditional culture on campus through diverse forms to ensure the inheritance of virtues and the continuation of warmth.
