On October 18, 2025, the graduate micro-credential program in AI + Green Chemistry and Carbon Accounting Management held a grand opening ceremony in Room 300 of the Fourth Teaching Building. Attendees included Professor Zheng Jihong, Vice Dean of the Graduate School; Professor Li Wei, Vice Dean of the School of Materials and Chemistry; Senior Engineer Jia Ying from the Shanghai Chemical Environmental Monitoring Station—a joint partner enterprise of the micro-credential program—as well as other leaders. All students and faculty of the micro-credential program attended the ceremony. Professor Zhang Shuping, the program director, explained the curriculum and practical content design along with related requirements. Jia Ying introduced practice projects provided by the enterprise and, together with Teacher Cheng Ping, delivered the first-day courses: AI + Smart Environmental Monitoring and Artificial Intelligence and Chemistry, respectively.

From October 13 to 17, the World Engineers Convention was held in Shanghai, with the theme Engineering Shaping a Sustainable Future. The convention focused on issues in engineering talent training, competency framework construction, and sustainable development pathways, which provided important reference and guidance for the objectives and efforts of the micro-credential program. This micro-credential program aims to fully leverage corporate strengths, address bottlenecks in graduate talent training, and actively rely on enterprises, project-based practical approaches, and the integration of micro-credentials with competitions to explore how to cultivate outstanding engineering talents who are proficient in both chemical engineering and artificial intelligence as well as carbon accounting.
