The 16th "Leyan Cup" Shanghai Undergraduate Chemical Experiment Competition and the first Shanghai Undergraduate Chemical Experiment Innovation Design Competition were held in Fengxian Campus of Shanghai Normal University from December 1 to 4. The competition was sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education, undertaken by Shanghai Normal University, and co organized by Shanghai University Chemical Experiment Teaching Steering Committee. A total of students from Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University Nearly 100 teachers and students from 19 universities in the Yangtze River Delta region such as Shanghai University of Technology participated offline, and 20 teams of chemical experiment innovation design competition participated in the final online.

The chemistry experiment contest adopted the "double blind selection mode" of drawing lots twice before and on the spot to comprehensively evaluate the theoretical knowledge, operation level and data processing ability of students' "inorganic synthesis and analysis experiment", "organic synthesis and spectrum analysis" and "physical chemistry experiment". Lin Yang, Wu Tianle and Gu Zhenyu, the 2020 undergraduate students majoring in applied chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, participated in the competition. After two rounds of fierce competitions in experimental theory examination and experimental operation, Lin Yang won the first prize, and Wu Tianle and Gu Zhenyu won the second prize.

The chemical experiment innovation design competition is divided into three tracks: innovation experiment, improvement experiment and science popularization experiment. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Xiong Fei of the Department of Chemistry, Sun Chen, a 2019 undergraduate majoring in applied chemistry, He Yiyang, a 2020 undergraduate majoring in applied chemistry The new experimental project "Asymmetric catalytic synthesis of chiral hemiesters - a micro organic synthesis teaching experiment" jointly completed by Fang Ruijing won the special prize (ranking first) in the first Shanghai College Students' Chemical Experiment Innovation Design Competition held at the same time. This experiment is planned to be incorporated into the excellent teaching material of chemical experiments in colleges and universities, Organic Chemistry Experiment Course (Second Edition), and has formed the phased research results of the key research topic of the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" of our college, "Exploration of the integrated practical teaching mode of teaching research competition based chemical experiment curriculum".
