Great results in the final of the material heat treatment innovation and entrepreneurship competition of the 2022 China University mechanical engineering innovation and creativity competition

Recently, the final results of the 2022 Chinese college students' mechanical engineering innovation and innovation competition and the material heat treatment innovation and entrepreneurship competition were announced. The students of our school achieved excellent results in this competition, and won 2 national second prizes and 1 third prize. Wherein, Two projects of our institute, "Research on laser quenching and particle peening composite treatment and wear resistance of 40CrMo gear steel" (team members: Cao Jiaming, Yang Qingchao, Xu Yan, Zhou Lianggong, Yu Yinfan, instructors: Zhan Ke and Zhao Bin) and "Research on strengthening and Toughening Heat Treatment of 304L stainless steel for 3D printing nuclear" (team members: Guo Shiri, Wang Cong, Wan Ting, Huang MengYue, instructors: Hou Juan and Huang Haijun) won the second prize of the competition; The participating project "effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties and electrical conductivity of copper chromium zirconium prepared by laser cladding in selected areas" (team members: Tang Xiangpeng, Zhou Fanfan, Diao Lanjuan, Ouyang Ziyu, Yang Guang, instructor: Chen Xiaohong) won the third prize in the competition.


As a professional event in the field of materials (belonging to the national class a discipline competition), the Chinese college students' mechanical engineering innovation and creativity competition and the material heat treatment innovation and entrepreneurship competition have been selected into the ranking list of the national general university discipline competition for three consecutive times (2019, 2020 and 2021) with the guiding ideology of "thick foundation, strong integration and heavy breakthrough" and the concept of "learning for application and reaching the peak", and have been widely concerned by universities and the industry. The competition is based on the innovative achievements (such as papers, patents and Applications) obtained in the field of metal material heat treatment and surface modification in the past two years. It encourages innovative practice, interdisciplinary innovation projects related to metal materials that are beneficial to the national economy and the people's livelihood, and hopes to solve the technical problems in the actual production of enterprises. The event not only tested the application ability of the contestants in heat treatment application, but also improved their innovative ability to independently solve practical problems in metal materials.


This competition is sponsored by the China Society of mechanical engineering, and organized by the heat treatment branch of the China Society of mechanical engineering and Shandong University of science and technology. Since its launch in January, this competition has attracted the wide participation of 142 universities, 675 teams and 2838 students, including Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Harbin University of technology, Shandong University, Northwest University of technology, Sichuan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Central South University, China University of Petroleum (East China), Suzhou University and Hefei University of technology. The content of the entries covers new materials, heat treatment and surface modification theory, process technology, equipment and application results. After preliminary selection and group competition, 72 undergraduate teams and 63 graduate teams finally entered the finals.


As a team of the school participating in the heat treatment innovation and entrepreneurship competition, the team members of our shool not only won honors for the school and the university, but also cultivated scientific innovation ability and enhanced team cooperation spirit and collective sense of honor during the competition. In their daily study and practice, the participating team members keep in mind the idea that attitude determines everything. They study in a down-to-earth manner. They always have high standards and strict requirements for themselves in scientific research. They constantly grow up in the competition and practice the innovative spirit of unremitting pursuit of scientific research and daring to make breakthroughs.
